Services

Person centered services

QASL offers a variety of community Living options for individuals requiring a supportive living environment such as community/small option homes, and ILS (independent living support) for individuals who require less support to live in an apartment. Our services will continue to evolve to ensure we are providing the options people want in order to live their best lives.

Referrals for Community Living Services currently come through the Department of Opportunities and Social Development’s Disability Support Program (this will eventually change as the work of the Remedy transforms the sector).

To apply for service through the Disability Support Program, please contact the Department of Opportunities and Social Development office nearest you, or you can find information on their website www.novascotia.ca/coms/

Community Living

01.

QASL offers inclusive day programs and community-based services that support people with disabilities to build skills, explore meaningful work, engage in volunteer or paid employment opportunities, and participate in enriching social and recreational experiences of their choosing.

To apply for any of our services, please contact us at (902) 354-2723.

Through our three locations including Penny Lane Enterprises, Riverbank General Store and The Social Scene, QASL’s day programs provide adults with disabilities opportunities to explore their interests, develop skills, and engage meaningfully in their communities. We work with each person to create options that reflect their personal outcomes and how they want to spend their days.

Participants can take part in employment skills development and workplace education, life skills development, social skill-building, and community-based experiences such as volunteerism and advocacy. Our services support personal growth, independence, and confidence, empowering individuals to pursue experiences that are meaningful to them.

Day Program Services

02.

QASL is equipped to help adults with disabilities explore meaningful work in local businesses. Participants are matched with supportive employers for job training and are assisted in securing competitively paid positions. We work closely with both individuals and employers to create successful, inclusive work experiences. If your business is interested in becoming an inclusive employer and has a job opening, please contact our office to learn more.
