Everyone deserves a place to call home, with the right support to live a life that is meaningful to them.
QASL offers flexible community living options designed to support people in finding the level of independence that works best for them.
We currently operate four Small Option Homes that provide a welcoming home where people live together with others and receive the support they need. Residents have their own space while sharing a home and building relationships, participating in household routines, making choices about their life, and being part of their community.
For people who want to live more independently, the Independent Living (ILS) option provides support to people living in their own apartments. Varying levels of assistance are offered, depending on the person’s needs and preferences . Staff work alongside individuals to help with the things that matter to them, from managing a home, help in developing everyday skills such as money management, social and practical skills, staying connected while making decisions about their life.
Whether someone is sharing a home with others or living in their own apartment, our goal is the same: to support people to have a home they enjoy and live a full and meaningful life in their community. We are open to exploring other community living options based on what you are looking for. Let’s talk about what might work for you!

The Social Scene is a flexible, community-based service option for people who want to connect with others, explore their interests, and experience their communities in new and exciting ways.
Participants guide what happens.
Activities and experiences are shaped by the interests, choices, and goals of the people who attend. Some days may involve group activities and shared experiences, while others may include individualized opportunities based on what a person enjoys or wants to explore.
From discovering new places and trying new things to developing skills, pursuing interests, volunteering, participating in community events, or simply spending time with friends, The Social Scene creates opportunities for people to choose, participate, connect, and belong.
At The Social Scene, there’s no one-size-fits-all day. You help shape your own experience.

Building skills. Finding opportunities. Earning a paycheque.
QASL helps people explore their interests, build workplace skills and discover what meaningful employment can look like for them. Whether someone is just beginning to explore work or is ready for a job, we provide support along the way.
Employment options can include:
Employment training – Learn workplace skills, routines, communication and confidence in a supportive environment
Skills development – Build practical skills based on individual interests and goals
Job coaching – Get personalized support to find and succeed in community employment
Community employment – Explore opportunities with local businesses and employers, with support that can change as skills and confidence grow
Paid employment – Gain experience through real work in our commercial kitchen and contracts department
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to contribute, develop their talents and experience the pride that comes with doing meaningful work. Employment looks different for everyone, and we work with each person to find opportunities that match their interests, abilities and goals.
